A TYPICAL DAY
The day centre is a safe space for people to come and make new friends or find new hobbies. We encourage and promote independence for all our service users. This page gives an idea of what a typical day at the centre looks like.
The bus leaves the Day Centre at 9.15 am Monday-Friday. A member of staff is always on the bus to accompany service users and the bus driver is also friendly!
Once all service users have been picked up, the bus arrives back at the day centre around 10.30 am. The staff are ready and waiting with cups of tea or coffee and toast for a mid morning snack.
We then discuss what activities we would like to do today: new age curling; seated exercises; skittles; baking… Too many activities to list them all but dominoes is a firm favourite!
A hot lunch is served at 12.30 pm, usually a main and a pudding. We always have an alternative and cater to everyone’s likes and dislikes and any allergies.
Following lunch, there are more activities – crosswords and quizzes are a popular request!
The bus then arrives to take the service users home at 2 pm.
